r47942
EA8500put'er back in as main gateway
reset & reconfig just to see iffin it all worked right
tis a PITA all in GUI but still worky like it is supposed to.
static DHCP for main net & br1
wlan0.1, wlan1.1, vlan4 all on br1 ...uses DNS 9.9.9.9
main net uses 'unbound'
samba share uses same ol 32GB ext4 flash drive
HFSC CAKE is good for me
port range forwarding ok
both her radios + VAPs worky good
ovpn server good ...I did see this: ncp-disable. Disabling cipher negotiation is a deprecated debug feature that will be removed in OpenVPN 2.6
r47942 still uses ovpn 2.5.5 so I'll worry with that when time comes
damnol WNDR3700v4 did a wonderful job without any problem at all but it is nice to have the
EA8500 olgal back in her rightful place
Status: Up and running for 24 hours, basic setup as Gateway, static leases, 2,4GHz, 5Ghz (Vanilla Firmware), USB storage NAS working.
OpenVPN client to Keepsolid with PBR working.
WireGuard client to Keepsolid working , WireGuard client for site-to-site setup to own server working.
WireGuard server(backup for one phone), working

Previous/Reset: r47528 / No
Mode/Status: Gateway, QoS
Issues/Errors: Not only related to this build, the switch config tab is not present. The previous build I used also did not have the switch config tab
Can the switch config tab be added to the build?
Thanks to BS and all who contributed.
Happy 2022 everybody and stay healthy. _________________

the only thing i have in shutdown script is
sleep 10
/opt/etc/init.d/rc.unslung stop
I would try issuing this command before you do the CLI upgrade; better would be to disable the shutdown script altogether first. There is something in your Entware installation that has to be culprit here; OR, something in the upgrade utility in DD-WRT when doing a CLI upgrade that collides. I am not saying this is "fact", but that is my thoughts on this. I would think more Entware users would be reporting issues on this no matter what the actual problem is. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

the switch config tab is not present.
Can the switch config tab be added to the build?
It would NOT do a bit of good to have a switch config tab for this unit.
I tried many years ago to do VLANs and other things that are fairly simple on most routers but the WRT160NL switch is NOT capable of such things.
Get yourself another router if you want such
The RTL8306SD/RTL830SDM supports 16 VLAN groups. These can be configured as port-based VLANs and/or 802.1Q tag-based VLANs. The RTL830SD/SDM also supports advanced VLAN setting method for external processor to maintain more than 16 VLAN groups.
RTL8306SD/RTL830SDM also provide tag insertion/remove function, a VLAN tag or a Realtek proprietary tag can be inserted or removed at the output port. The inserted tag can carry useful information for Router and Gateway applications, such as the source port and the priority of the packet.
I presume that adding VLAN support in DD-WRT for this ethernet switch is something that never or will never happen. I am sure there is related information somewhere about this, but I'm not going to waste time looking for it. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

I guess I am not following the bouncing ball correctly, although I know what VACLs are. If that is the make-or-break, I hate to say it, but none of the switches in most consumer routers support VACLs AFAIK... I'm not going to pull every datasheet to verify that, though
