On what router which firmware number...what else did you do...??

Always start with router models / firmware number on it... it helps a lot...
If you enabled automount and name your partition jffs it will be detected and automounted...

The other option is you to manually mount it...via UUID manually...

I dont see anything else detected or mounted as jffs, but the normal/default jffs size only...
Where is your partition named JFFS i can see only OPT and that's it...so, sort your partitions...out first it must be ext 2,3 or 4 format.... Laughing

Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r55109 std (02/09/24) - ROUTER: WRT3200ACM

I want to have jffs in the same flash drive, I want to have jffs in the same flash drive, entering my router (SFTP) I see that it exists /jffs/tmp/ipkg, but I don't see the partition

I split the original tangent part from the other thread:

[SPLIT] JFFS Installation part one

This is getting cumbersome.

1) Do not enable jffs2 Support in the Management Tab. That will create a jffs Volume in Nvram.

Did you follow this USB Storage guide by egc? If not, I strongly suggest to read through & follow that guide.

I'm not sure what you meant by "activated the jff2 in the same flashdrive", but if you enabled JFFS2 Support under /Management.asp then I suggest to reset (nvram erase && reboot) and reconfigure, because that JFFS2 may cause flash wear-out on your router built-in flash storage. read all the manuals..explore all the options if something dont work...expose your moves, settings and ect. present details..as many as possible, than you ask a question and provide data...and so on...it will carry you further than you can believe... Razz

ok, I'll turn it off now, I read that Entware is much more up to date than jffs

1) I deactivated jffs and reboot but why do I still see the /jffs/? folder?

Code:

root@WRT3200ACM:~# cd /jffs/
root@WRT3200ACM:/jffs

2) Is it possible to remove it? with SFTP i can't...

Code:

root@WRT3200ACM:~# rm -r /jffs/
rm: descend into directory '/jffs'? yes
rm: can't remove '/jffs': Read-only file system

Because the folder exists whether or not you have JFFS2 enabled in the management tab just like /opt exists whether or not you have USB in use or Entware installed.

At least link the Wiki the screenshot came from: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/JFFS_File_System

There was a time that JFFS2 was used because of no USB ports installed on routers. The Wiki probably needs a little bit of rewording so people don't get confused.
