hi all, I have a system that does not support legacy boot and is not recognizing the DD-WRT image as a boot option. is there a way to get DD-WRT to work on newer hardware?
Maybe UEFI is not the issue then? The system I am trying to run DD-WRT on is a mini pc with a Celeron Jasper Lake N5105 processor.
I did use Rufus to run it. perhaps it has to do with the MBR partition and it needs to be a GPT partition?
DD-WRT does not show up as a boot option in the boot list on this PC. I confirmed the image loads on a other computer without issue so it wrote to the drive properly.

Hi, I don't think this is the incorrect place. my system is an X86_64 Intel Jasper Lake N5105 Celeron Processor. it is x86_64 hardware.
and yes using ancient mbr isnt going to last forever.. we need to get current. this doesnt affect my x86 router (on haswell), yet... but on a new system it will.. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Generally speaking, my understanding is that DD-WRT was intended for CF cards or hard drives, not USB flash drives - but I have not inquired with the head master about any of this. Did you format the USB stick as GPT in Windows to begin with? Generally speaking, my understanding is that DD-WRT was intended for CF cards or hard drives, not USB flash drives - but I have not inquired with the head master about any of this. Not going to address the squeaky wheel comment above.

I did try this the problem is that the system i am trying to run on has 0 support for any other boot options other than UEFI. this seems to be common among simple aliexpress devices that are using Intel N5100 cpu's etc. I am really hoping that DD-WRT is working towards updating to support UEFI boot methods.
if i move the boot device (a nvme drive in this case, but also tried a SATA SSD etc.) to a system that supports legacy boot options it loads fine and boots fine. I require UEFI support for the system i wish to run this on.

There have been EFI images added since this thread opened, starting with New Build - 10/12/2023 - r53616.
