Hi,

I have a problem with dd-wrt and my Asus RT68U and my Sonos. It's not possible to connect to my USB drive that I'm using as a NAS. When trying to add a folder for Sonos I get the message that dd-wrt refused the connection.
In system log I see the following:

You are absolute right, that's broken. It is because DD-WRT now uses the kernel samba server, where SMB1 is broken. I opened a github issue on the kernel server project, where I show the problem, but they did not fix it yet:

https://github.com/cifsd-team/cifsd/issues/430

(Took quite a while to figure out the problem was there, I now use a Raspberry Pi Zero W for running a regular samba server for sonos)

Because you use SMB2 or higher there, sonos rely on SMB1.

You can set Minimum protocol version in the samba GUI to NT 1.0 (SMB 1) nowadays

wsdd is only a windows discovery service I do not know if Sonos supports that. But you should be able to connect by IP address

But yeah ksmbd (which is the new samba) is a WIP

Around mid/late December 2019, not sure about the actual build.

If you are interested, on a never build just run "modprobe des_generic" after boot and Sonos devices are able to connect.

I created a ticket here:
