TP-Link Archer C7 v2 stock firmware to DD-WRT help

Hi everyone sorry to post but I cant find the info I need in the forum. I have been searching for the past 4 days in here and online.

I am currently running firmware version 3.15.3 build 180114 Rel 39265n.

I want to flash to dd-wrt and everything I keep reading is that I need to go back to the stock firmware on my router first? Is this true?

If so where can I find the stock firmware because on the tplink site the original firmware does not exist. I am worried that if I try to flash my router from the current firmware I am on it will brick. Please help.

Sorry its a TPLINK Archer C7 v2. Everything I read is that I have to be at the stock firmware so I guess I cant flash to dd-wrt. Its really frustrating trying to just find the stock firmware. I tried searching this forum. I rather not have to spend money and but a router that has it setup when I have one I can use. Any help is appreciated.

Please read the forum guidelines those will tell you if the router is supported and how to deal with that.

You have to be running Archer_C7_V2_150427 firmware to install DD-WRT from the TP-Link stock firmware webUI. There is a link in the wiki for the file, plus you can also find it at the following links:
