Is this fw compatible with my linksys e4200 v1?
Is this a rhetorical question, or is my signature broken?
And which version? Broadcom k3x? Currently I have "DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 mega (08/06/19)" installed
Before my good friend @kp69 will explode , I will answer your question.
In his signature which is at the bottom of his post he stated he uses Mega build 41663, Kernel 3X for his E4200.
In this build thread there is an other user who reports the use of this same build on his E4200, also other users reporting the use of this build on comparable routers.
Router: Netgear WNDR4000 (x2)
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r41664 mega (12/06/19)

Mode: 2.4/5Ghz access points, DynDNS, Wireguard, bridged VAP (hidden and unhidden)
Status: Two days running ok

Attach the logs to the ticket or send them to me if you cannot do that
I don’t mind helping out, but not completely sure how to grab the logs related to the 68u boot loop. Is there a faq somewhere that I can follow?.
Serial console as if you were doing a serial recovery would probably be ideal since everything is noW** logging to serial console.
I had a feeling you were going to say that. Hmm I was looking at USB TTL cables on amazon.com last night, but might be a bit before I can snag one. Hopefully someone else with an AC68u can grab the logs so the issue can be fixed.
** Not sure if this would help, but r41659 booted correctly on my AC68u, but clients would not reconnect after they left the wireless range of the router, but if I stayed within wireless range, (by changing APs) I could re-connect with no problem. _________________ ASUS RT-AC3100 AP Merlin 386.12_4

Alpha 41663_K3 is not generally available for download.
Alpha/Preview versions are not in ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/../betas/
However, Eventer's question is about Beta 41664_K3.
And, I had the same question, which is why I've spent the morning searching for 41663. Any clues?

Y'know, this is where I could go on a rant. BTW, another public beta was posted today by me. Just flashed it without incident. You're welcome. BTW, whether or not I report my flashes in build threads, if you flash a build that is posted in a thread, report. Because I might just get snarky and flash and not report at random so people ask these kinds of questions _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

@KernelPanic: I am sorry, but I do not understand your most recent post in this thread. You wish to complain about something, I take it. Yet, I do not know what you mean to complain about.
Still, I am new here, so perhaps I am being a bit bold. Also, I do appreciate it that you contribute to making open source firmware that will run on many routers. _________________ My router: Asus RT-AC66U

I have a low tolerance for people who can't read plain english, and sometimes I tend to be a smartass. Other times, I'm just downright mean and rude. It's part of my charm...
For the record: I in no way contribute directly to source code development in this project. I report, confirm, contribute to discussion of issues within the firmware... post build threads every now and again, try to help people resolve configuration issues and such, but I do none of the actual programming. There are folks who have that idea that I do, and that is not the case. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

So the point you mean to stress is this: you 'do none of the actual programming.' Right. Folks: the person with the monikor 'KernelPanick' does none of the actual programming. _________________ My router: Asus RT-AC66U

Anyone get this k2.4.x micro build to work on anything ??? dangit I had high hopes for this build ...guess I should have tried this on the old WRT54G spares
Linksys WRT54G v8.1
DD-WRT v3.0-r41664 micro (12/06/19)
Linux 2.4.37 #57396 Fri Dec 6 06:44:09 +04 2019 mips
[dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin]
NO Reset -- GUI install over r35531
used as a WAP in the shop at the very far end of my network
Apparently it NO worky. Went there trying to connect with phone & laptop but they
will only connect to this device for approx 1 sec
I'm able to connect to my WRT54GSv6 micro 41664 via Android 10 and Linux (5.4.2-arch). Android showed 'no internet' initially but then was fine. What OS' were you trying? I'll update then try Win10 shortly...
Edit: updated to the r41696 alpha build (over wireless, by accident ) and it connected fine. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

I just setup a WRT54Gv5.0 (r35531) to replace the WRT54Gv8.1
and another WAPv3 (r35531) ... I think I trashed the old one.
everything is back good there now
Most likely for some reason it just killed the WDS link but I don't know why it later killed the 54Gv8.1 setup as a WAP
When I rarely update them I always do furthest unit first so that would have been the 54GV8.1 and it looked fine
from here but there was NO wireless connected and no way for me check that from here.
I could quickly see the WDS never came back between WRT54Gv2 & WAP54Gv3 but anyways...
funny you ask, jwh7 -- I had forgot about the 54Gv8.1 and its layin here beside me
so I just now get to look at it
damn thing completey unreachable -- reset does nothing
pugged it into my EA8500 switch that has a VLAN on two ports in the 192.168.1.0 net
and done --
mrjcd@Deb:~$ tftp 192.168.1.1
tftp> mode binary
tftp> rexmt 1
tftp> timeout 60
tftp> put code.bin
Sent 1835028 bytes in 4.5 seconds
tftp> q
mrjcd@Deb:~$
power cycled it and plugged its WAN into my main net
Ha -- it still lives
I'll prolly put DD-WRT back on it iffin I twas to ever have another need for such an oldass unit.
ok whatever --- thru the Linksys GUI I put the 1st install
'dd-wrt.v24-9330_micro_wrt54gv81.bin'
on it and then GUI installed the r35531 'dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin'
reset and GUI installed r41664
It looked fine and only set PW and local time and went to set wireless as G-only and that's whenn I lost the webif.
danm thing I just dunno and its been long time since I messed with these old broadcomy units I don't remember much about them
I could reach it thru telnet but that's it --
Code:
mrjcd@Deb:~$ telnet 192.168.1.1
Trying 192.168.1.1...
Connected to 192.168.1.1.

I did a power cycle and then GUI installed r35531 back to her and she is all good now so I
will just stick her in the closet with other old junk till I might need it
