[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and device specificrecovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI, but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. #6246
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices(only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
• VAPs not working at bootfixed for unbridged VAPs in40562 - 40566. Effective startup commandsdiscussion thread is here.
• If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay, e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25'.
• Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing, via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'
• Show us your findings with steps to reproduce, configuration, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search SVN tickets & discuss in forum before opening. Before reporting: reset & manually set up, not restore from a backup.
• Please include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) & relevant configuration information.

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC68U E1
File/Kernel: Linux 4.4.283 #4104 SMP Mon Sep 20 08:33:29 +07 2021 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r47474 / As per doctor orders
Mode/Status: Gateway / mostly operational
Issues/Errors: 2 issues, 1) annoying as heck.
1) VAP (wl1.1) clients get disconnected on clicking Apply on any page for any reason. Wont reconnect until - Known workaround command line interfaces/NAS down/up (its also stored as a startup command in nvram)
2) I started noticing when I visit websites (doesnt matter if its something I visited the night before or new), no matter which browser but mostly Firefox 92, immediate (Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.) and upon trying again (sometimes 2/3 time) it loads the site.

I haven't experienced issue #2 in quite some time except when my ISP has had some connectivity issues and if memory serves, it was a combination of development and configuration at play. Let me spin the rolodex of notes and see if it will jog my memory; but as you are quite already-established, you should be able to pinpoint the cause. Outside of requesting we merge current git of dnsmasq, I see nothing of consequence that would cause this. It could be an upstream or local resolver issue in general.
To clarify from the other thread: I do not assume what browsers people use; I personally use browsers that do not have browser-included secure dns functionality. Also, I have tested browsers with this functionality and personally do not have issue #2 on current DD-WRT releases. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Previous/Reset: 47477M (47478 test build) / *
Mode/Status: AP / working
The config issues from 47474 (and prior) are fixed. \o/ Now about resets...
*I've been talking to BS about the Sw Config tab. He said his GL looks normal on this build. Just to see if it worked, I had moved WAN to VLAN0 and deleted the extra 3-15 VLAN entries. All the auto-negotiate and speed checkboxes were blank. After updating, I did a h/w button reset, set a password... but my Sw Config looked the same as before. Wtf. Everything else had reset as expected.
So then in telnet I did a `erase nvram;nvram erase;reboot` (what is the 'correct' way now... nvram erase?) and all 16 VLAN's were back and the autoneg/speed boxes were checked, but none of the VLAN checkboxes (notably, 0 and 1) were checked. BS says his are correct (like how mine looked with 46788).
So now I'm going to try an `nvram erase` from CFE (or a '30/10/30') and see what happens. <kaboom>
I'm -real- tired of messing w/ this old device. Getting really good at setting up CB and AP modes though. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

Yes, but more erase changes had been made in the past year* and I also recall you mentioning at some point that there were some issues going on around using that command. I'm not up on the latest thing now. But I assume those issues (on tri-radio routers I recall?) are now resolved.
I did verify the port?vlans params were all blank, which explains my GUI tab. Manually setting them made their nvram match my 46788 config, so I'm done w/ this thing for now.
I presume BS didn't do a reset, and that's why his config still looked fine. Looks like the application code isn't setting up the VLAN (port* params) for k2.4 at least. Likely due to all the K3X+ vlan/port changes from late May. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

the first download link is working fine now, not sure if it was just a bit slower to refresh than the other 2 links, or someone nudged it. The screenshot in my previous post showed what I encountered when I clicked on the first download link 30min ago. Of course I switched to the 2nd download link as adviced, but I reported the abnormality instead of keeping quiet.

@IONK: M$ Windows is an error in general If you're trying to ping-f*ck the router too quickly, it's going to complain. After flash, wait about 5-10 minutes for the thing to stabilize. I have had similar errors and the webUI eventually returned. If it's *still* unavailable, then I would reboot via ssh and see if it decides to act right. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

is it not expected to have VLAN 3-15? I remember my RT-N10U had them in 09/17/2021 - r47461
Yes, but they can be deleted now, so figured I'd try it. In e.g. 46788, they aren't removable in the GUI. There was an 'Assigned to Bridge' option column instead.
