Hi all,
My old E4200 has been running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/07/14) kingkong
(SVN revision 22000M) for years and years.
I use it as AP and it has been working flawlessly since I installed this version in 2015 or something like that.
Now I have got another two E4200 routers that I would like to use also as AP. My plan was to flash them with exactly the same version which I know that works perfect for me, make a backup of my router, and restore it in the new ones after the flashing is finalised.
To my surprise I see that the Kong branch is deprecated and the repository shut down, and I cannot get the firmware anymore.
I could of course try new versions and see if they work as I need. But I remember that to find this one I tried quite a few others that did not work as expected, or were not as stable or so... it was a long process and I could save it if I simply use this version which I know that covers all my needs.
So I have thought about two possibilities and I hope that perhaps you can help me:
1.- Do you guys know if there is any mirror or old repository or whatever place where I can still get that kong version? Perhaps any of you has the firmware file?
2.- My router is actually running that version. Is there any procedure to dump the firmware out of the router creating a firmware flashable file that I can use to flash the other routers?
Or perhaps anyone has a suggestion that I have not thought about.
In any case, I thank you all in advance for your help.

Thanks a lot for the advice, egc. I would rather go for the same version that I know it works. But if the things came to that being not possible, I would definitely have a look to the one you are recommending. At least I know where to start looking in that case.
Still I hope that someone can help me to get the version I have.
You are running a very old version which has known security problems so it is not safe to run this version if the router is connected to the internet, you have been warned!
Thanks for the heads up, egc. Point taken.
Those routers are not the ones that are connected to the internet but repeaters inside the house. I assume that it is a bit of a better situation but not totally safe in any case. Still, it is something I can live with.
