I believe it is an Qualcomm SOC design, it has plenty of ram and flash space. Does anyone know if ddwrt will one day support this mesh based router/satellite setup?
Now, let me see if I understand my own previous comment. It was probably due to the OP not identifying the internal hardware or looking up that info on WikiDevi or some other site or not providing FCC documentation, hi-res internal photos, full flash dumps, serial boot logs, ... HELPFUL information to get these devices ported. But again, the default method is to donate the device(s) to the lead developer so he can work on porting and testing in-house.
I've seen numerous posts across the internet where people have said they are donating their RBR850 - has this never happened? Has there been no RBR850 doantions to the cause, ever?

I do not know
I know a Dynalink DL-WRX36 has been donated (I also have one which is currently running OpenWRT) which has a comparable chipset and we might see support if we have switched to Kernel 6.1.

This router has very good hardware it runs WireGuard at 850+ Mb/s
Thanks for the reply and info.
Hopefully this means we might be close to running some tests soon! It's a very popular router and it would be great if we could bring DD-WRT to it..

Has there been any progress on this? Would also love to see it.

I can re-inquire about a donation received, but unless someone acquired the device(s) from the EU market to ship to Bensham/Dresden, it was probably a wash. I will say this, it does look hopeful considering the following commit, which is probably related to the Dynalink DL-WRX36 that was donated already.
