Greetings everyone!!
I recently purchased a Fibocom FM170 modem in a M.2 to ethernet adaptor board. I could not get this thing to work with my current TP Link Omada set up no matter what I tried. The seller even bought the same router and tested it on his end and also had issues. I tried both automatic DHCP setup and manual with no success. I even tried on two other routers (Netgear R7000 and my R9000) and no joy.

I finally decided to flash the stable version of DD-WRT on my R7000 and give that a try. It would not connect through the DHCP setting but connects right up when I select "Mobile broadband, then my carrier, etc.

My question is what exactly is going on with this mobile broadband connection? How does it work? I don't show a WAN address in the GUI but I'm connected just fine and the R7000 hands out IP's to any connected devices.

Thanks for any info!!

Start with reading the forum guidelines:

This is the wrong forum and there is no such thing as a stable build.

Mobile broadband is for using a USB modem, not the ethernet WAN port. Would be helpful to have more information instead of having to look up details that should already be provided.

For the record, it also works with the above mentioned hardware connected via ethernet.
