Hi all,
DD-WRT v3.0-r49268 std (06/19/22)

Following this Document:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Cellular_Phone/USB_Modem_as_WAN_connection

It appears that one of the required kernel modules to do this is missing.

Specifically:
rndis_host.ko

I understand that some DD-WRT distros may not include this module (and others as well).

Before I decide whether I need this support enough, to slog through set up the whole Development Environment, etc, to build it...

I thought that I would ask to see if this missing module was expected?

Is there a different module I should be loading instead?

Is there another external repo area where I may be able to download the compiled .ko?

Or is compiling it up the only way to get it?

Thanks!

Usually depends on device flash size.

On devices with ~16MB flash size and lower, it's probably not going to be included.

Bingo. FYI the development wiki and wiki information in general regarding this is outdated and obsolete for the most part.

See this thread if you want to build your own modules. You will need a different toolchain than I used, but all are included in the toolchain download link.

What router (actually what kernel)

I make regular builds for K4.4. and K4.9, I can make the modules for you if it is K4.4. or K4.9
