Hello,

I am searching a VHT160 (5GHz 160MHz AC) USB-WLAN-Stick for my PC and cannot find any on the market.
With MIMO or just one stream.

I think this in an interresting topic.

Does anybody find one ?

and what do you want with it?
VHT160 is overrated junk anyway

you can achieve up to 700 Mbit throughput with VHT80 2x2,
VHT160 is rarely faster because such throughput rates require a very fast processor and few routers can provide such a throughput...

Your ordered WRT3200ACM is also a black box, the WLAN cards have in the chip integrated power tables, with the router you can use and configure VHT160 only limited

and I want to mention again that the whole 5ghz spectrum offers only space for 2x VHT160 channels, there are interferences preprogrammed...
so if you want to annoy your neighbors then go ahead and use VHT160

I have ordered the WRT3200ACM just for testing. A TP-Link ARCHER-C5 v1 VHT80 is standing by.

I rejected the order of WRT3200ACM and stay by TP-Link ARCHER-C5 v1 VHT80.
I agree that VHT160 AC is no topic anymore and will not come on the market because of WIFI-6 and WIFI-7.
Currently I get a new 5G gateway with WIFI-6 so I ordered a
TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus WIFI-6 WLAN Stick that has 867MBit AC 2x2 VHT80.
On pure WIFI-6 AX 2x2 5GHz it gets 1200MBit..
WIFI-6 Sticks 4x4 (hopefully they come) are not present, so I am very exited in upcoming WIFI-7 Sticks Smile

I did some tests to compare AX and AC, in general AX will give you a 10-15% higher throughput (if the client supports AX of course).
Yes you will see a PHY rate of 1200 versus 866 (2 stream 80 MHz) and when in the same room and without interference you can even get a 25% higher throughput but somewhat further away the positive effect of AX rapidly diminishes.

I have a very capable AX router (Dynalink DL-WRX36) but my main/family router is still the R7800 which is plenty fast enough for daily usage Smile

Note under optimal circumstances you can see a max throughput of 2/3 of the PHY rate.

Its just a dream
When a 10GBit WIFI-7 Stick is available I put one to my NAS (Windows AP) and one to my PC for transfering big backups very fast. I thought about upgrading to 10GBit LAN but switch&card are to expensiv.
WIFI-7 Sticks will may solve a lot NAS perfomance issues..

The only real solution is to pull a cable.

something tells me this is not a VHT160 device.

VHT160 2x2:2 are 1733.3Mbit and not 1300

This is a 4x4:3 device with only 3 streams.
Therefore I guess VHT80

VHT80 3x3:3 = 1300Mbit
