Router/Version: Netgear R7800
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r49677 std (08/10/22)
Kernel: Linux 4.9.325 #1122 SMP Wed Aug 10 02:20:43 +07 2022 armv7l
File/Upload: dd-wrt-webupgrade.bin / Upload using CLI
Mode: Gateway/AP
Reset: No Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r49626 std (08/03/22)
Setup Using: PPPOE, 2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz, IPv4, DNSMasq, NTP TimeSync, WireGuard, Samba
Status: Stable, Working Fine with some issues; running DD-WRT firmware type for 2.4ghz & 5ghz, uptime 24+ Hrs.
I have connected two USB devices (one pen drive for YAMon) & other for Songs NAS. on every reboot the Device address changes anything from SDA to SDC for USB HDD. The pendrive partions mount correctly as they are named opt & jffs. but due to this the SAMBA share does not work as it points to non-existant ID. after every reboot, I have to manually set all shares again. happening since build 49626
my usb settings are shown in image

Thank you BrainSlayer for Wonderful firmware.
Thanks all Guru for your help in forums.
Unfortunately that is a known long standing problem, you have to mount manually to get the same mount point.
There is a script (I think from @eibgrad) to do that somewhere will see if I can find it.

This is part of my startup script which takes care of getting the same device names for various drives and partitions. Currently I don't use it, but at the time I put quite some effort in it. Perhaps @abhijitat has some use for it. There are probably just about enough comments to decypher it.

Thanks a lot, this solved my problem.
I would also like to thank @egc for the effort he took for finding the script and pointing me in right direction. I can see that your script also has inputs from @egc.
I am mainly a windows person. Not too acquainted to Linux, but in this forum I have actually learned a lot with help of Gurus & user who are willing to help like yourself.
Update 9+ hrs after install:
Status/LAN device not updating traffic count correctly.
A couple hours after updating I starting watching a live video stream (on a PBR IP/route) that typically uses 1-2GB/hr. Three or four hours later I checked status/LAN and the device showed less than 50MB. Huh?? Should be min 5GB. Updating correctly now (850MB while writing this post.
Maybe lookie lookie triggered the count?
Minor issue. Just surprised, rarely see any issue _________________ Current: Netgear R9000 DD-WRT v3.0-r55460 std (03/25/24)
