And no, not without removing all of the heatsinks and black covering that covers the board traces, it doesn't do me much good. Guess I need to peep FCCID resources to see if there are good pics. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Taking everything apart will be done once the new usb ttl cable comes in if that doesn't work.
I have been reading the thread about the 880L and came across the correct layout of that board according to multiple users. Do you think it's the same as the 895L?

Anyway, the pin with the square (marked by arrow) is the Rx, (then space), then next pin is the 3.3v, then Gnd, then last is Tx.
So I got the new USB to serial cable. However, the router refuses to turn on if the cable is plugged in to the serial port. The router turns on if the cable is not plugged in to the serial power. Any ideas?
I have the black white and green cable plugged in. Now the router decided to turn in by nothing shows up on putty. Used the setting com3 115200 8 1 none.
Sometimes cheap adapters have the wires swapped, incorrectly color coded, or worse there's a short inside and the only way to determine is to open up the USB casing to verify the factory's soldering skills.
There are also counterfeit Prolific chips out there. Verify the Prolific drivers installed correctly, check the chip version too.

I get this on the putty window if I move the cables that I have connected to the serial connection when the router is off. But nothing shows on the putty when I turn the router in.
