Router: Netgear R7000
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r39960M kongac (06/08/19)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.180 #666 SMP Sat Jun 8 11:15:19 CEST 2019 armv7l
Status: Upgraded from a previous KONG build using "ddup --flash-unattended", thinking I would get the most recent stable build but got this build labeled "Test" instead (I listened to https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1088203#1088203).
Reset: Yes and No, tried both, same outcome.
Errors: Same problem as all KONG builds from the last 4-5 years: even with a settings of "reboot nightly at 3AM", the router runs out of memory roughly 12 hours later and starts killing off services.
Syslog looks pretty much the same each time, but I can't seem to pin-point a reason for this issue. Until services start getting killed off, it runs rock-solid, so how can I troubleshoot this? It's driving me and everybody else in the house bonkers. I don't think I run an exotic setup either but I've read of config-dependent memory leaks in the past, so perhaps I do have an exotic setup. If someone would be willing to work with me on this, please let me know. I'll provide whatever info you need. Thanks!

Did you reset to defaults at the proper way:
Telnet to your router and do:
Code:
nvram erase && reboot
and after that put settings in manually do not restore from a backup.

I did with the last update and it didn't help, so I wasn't about to waste time with that this time (manually putting all the DHCP reservations and all the other stuff back in isn't fun). But I remembered that enabling QOS caused memory issues in previous builds and I had since re-enabled it while troubleshooting a streaming issue.
Thus, I disabled QOS again this time and lo-and-behold, the router is still going strong 17 hours later. So the same bug with QOS is still hanging around some years later. I guess I'm the only one using QOS, or the only using it with my specific settings.

Is it still working after multiple days/weeks? I have this issue and would like to hear from you. I have tried a number of things including erasing and resetting, but this issue came back after the last time I erased, so I wonder if it is just a fluke and your issue also came back. Please let me know. I also would like to know which hardware revision you have, mine is A6, oct 2018.

mine A6 2017
it happens for me when i go from 2018 kong builds to the new 2019 builds.
since i fix it it works fine i can reset any time without any problem.
i noticed after doing nvram erase && reboot the light of the routers doesn't turn off and when i login i see some text appear as "undefined" so i have to turn off/on the router manually which fix it.

Where do I get A6 2017, does Kong have his older firmware on a different site?
Yeah after a search kongs older builds are nowhere to be found. If you can upload and send me a copy of 2017 A6 build I would be greatful. I'm stuck with constant overheating despite my best efforts to adjust settings.
