My ubiquiti edgerouter lite is suffering from the same bug.
When updated the unit enters a boot loop with kernel panic.
I tried to reset configs and flash the usb drive with a fresh install but it doesn't work.
Any news regarding a fix?

As far as I know, Octeon SoC is still on the 4.9 kernel, but if not, no serial logs, nothing amplifying, just noise in a possibly unrelated thread. What may seem to be the same is likely not. Sure, it a similar issue, but with completely different hardware SoC. The issue on the EA8500 would seem to be with the partitioning of the dual partitions (dual boot) which you probably do not have on your particular router. You need to do some research and gain the knowledge how to obtain a boot log for your device. If your hardware is running Linux 4.9 and not Linux 6.1, then it's not related. There have also been Octeon-specific development commits applied that do not pertain to the EA8500, whatsoever.
