OK, my setup. The Netgear R7800 is in the main house, CAT6 to the modem. It generates 2 wifi networks.
Mountain Vista 2.4 GHz and Mountain Vista 5GHz. Both WDS AP mode.
All the others connect to it on the 2.4GHz network (except one 862L that is on 5GHz), WDS Station mode. Same wifi settings on each. Each Station than has its own separate 5GHz AP on a different channel than the main, same channel if outside of its range. Each station also has a VAP in WDS AP mode to extend the 2.4GHz network.
The only router not directly connected to the R7800's 2.4GHz is the WDR3600. That is connected to one of the Archer C7's VAPs. I expect a speed reduction there.
The problem is: None of my routers with a connection to the R7800 directly, even with decent connection speed (>90 MiB/s) do not see a speedtest above ~1-2MB/s, ever. This is only since I did a manual rebuild of all settings on the R7800 and one of the Archer C7s. I did not upload a backup file, I put in all the settings by hand using mouse and keyboard. Not even copy paste.
PS: I know this is not the latest build. I have not had a chance to update to today's build (July 19, r47073).

I finally have ddwrt in my archer c7 and seeing your post you wrote here

Issues/Errors: Really slow, inconsistent Internet speeds. My main router, the r7800, I can consistently get ~80MB/s download. The Archer C7s, I expect a drop from that due to it being a WiFi to WiFi connection. But ~1-2 MB/s then <100 KB/s is not reasonable. Something changed since r47000.
i install the fw r47000now I have this config
and I show these wired results
wifi 2,4
wifi 5
i dont see any reason _________________ Fiber Modem/Router: ZTE-ZXHN F670L ►►►►►► Internet 1

@royitoroy
Your speedtest results didn't show up properly. I can't see them at all.
Also, why did you put in an antenna gain of 20 for the 2.4GHz network? If DD-WRT has anything but 0 in there, it will subtract that value from the Tx power.
You use RS/CTS on the 2.4GHz but not on the VAP on 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Why? _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

yes, the truth is that I started to try different configurations because although I am about 4 meters away from the router from which I geting the signal per ddwrt client in my archer I can not reach even a stable -35dbm... normally I only have -44 ~ -55dbm and despite looking for info of that "antenna gain" I couldnt find much so I only moved it to see if there was any change and as did not show anything, I leave it at 0 without touching more.
the RS/CTS in 2.4 and vap yes they are, but in the 5 dont because in the default configuration it wan not and I preferred to keep it like this since I do not have congestion of other networks in any channels of the 5ghz band _________________ Fiber Modem/Router: ZTE-ZXHN F670L ►►►►►► Internet 1

That is not the speed you should be getting on a decent wifi client ~4 meters from the device. I would expect >20MB/s download. Note, I only do my testing using 2x2 and 3x3 devices. Not shitty cellphones with only 1x1 wifi. What is the connection speed in DD-WRT for that device? _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

I have also written him several times that his measurements do not correspond in any way to a good client at a distance of 4 meters.
He mentioned that there was a 50cm wall in between but didn't answer if it was really reinforced concrete.
The measurement results are actually an absolute absurdity when you consider that you can easily achieve stable 600-1000Mbit with 802.11ac on 4m-5m.
apart from that he has modified his setup.
It looks like he now uses the Archer as a client with the WLAN of his neighbors (surely through walls again).
but again does not explain why the Archer itself manages 60-100Mbit and his client *again* only 10Mbit
Had also told him several times he should test with another / proper client and if possible not through reinforced concrete walls
I see (on the r7800) that you have set the 2,4Ghz network mode to mixed but under the custom settings you have changed the "basic_rates" and "supported_rates".
I'm not sure if this makes sense and works properly.
The custom rates that Tatsuya suggested are for the mode N/G-Mixed.
same on TP-Link
same on DIR
would suggest to use N/G-Mixed with Custom Rates everywhere or Mixed without Custom Rates everywhere

I have actually already noticed that myself and changed them all to N/G Mixed, no custom basic rates. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.
