Request the the dropbear binary in DD-WRT be compiled with ed-25519 support. This would add only about 100 kilobytes to the size of the binary. In turn, ed-25519 support reduces NVRAM use with the much smaller ed-25519 public key, and it is a well trusted modern encryption primitive.

It's been requested. If it cannot be supported on micro or mini build flash devices, it likely won't happen.
