Hi Folks,

I've had this router working fine on DD-WRT for years, and I recently upgraded to latest firmware (2019-08-06).

Around the same time I set up a new router as main and wanted convert this one to a wireless client of my main router (to have some ethernet-only devices connected to it for internet access).

As I was experimenting with various settings, after one of the reboots, the router got stuck in a boot loop. I get ping reply for about 45 seconds and can get into web UI during that period, but then the router reboots.

After a 30/30/30 reset, I installed the PREVIOUS version of the firmware (same as I had working fine for years). I successfully set up Client Mode, and was in happy land for a few weeks, but today the router crashed and got stuck in boot loop again.

SHORT VERSION:

Has anyone seen similar behavior? Router works, then gets stuck in boot loop. After hard reset, it works for some time, then boot loop again.

Thanks!

Might be a good idea to upgrade. That is not the latest release. The router database is for reference only. It would be better to search the forum, especially the build threads (i.e. Google "R6400v1 site:forum.dd-wrt.com", etc.). Also, you do NOT 30-30-30 that router.

Latest build release thread (Broadcom): New Build - 04/15/2020 - r42910

It might be as simple as a bad power brick. Try another power supply.
