Is USB core support enabled at a minimum? For USB storage, is USB storage support enabled and proper mount points, etc. set? USB Printing...? Keep in mind, that there are bits that must be enabled for all USB ports to work AFAIK. iPhone tethering didn't work for me on recent builds (I turned on all USB options) on 1900ACv1. I randomly picked a version from around 9 months ago and it worked.
Generally, I just see others reporting issues. When I get time, I'll plug in a drive to the router and see if I can get it to work with the newest build.

I had problems updating my 1900's and finally found that the cause was I needed to clear mvram (nvram erase && reboot) first. Although the current partition was updateable the alternate was an older build. I took a backup of the current operating partition. I cleared mvram and updated to the latest build (twice) so that both partitions were up to date.
