I made a comment about IPv6 and that CTF could not be used effectively with IPv6 enabled. Below is the-joker's response and article as to why it is useful:

Unless your ISP has switched off IPv4 then IPv6 is useless. So unless you need it, there are no benefits at all.
IPv6 Doesn't like CTF, I noticed that you had complained about this before.
So a a picture has formed and when looking at it, I'm wondering if yet another thread is going to give you more answers that the ones already given on this subject.
There are other threads on forums that specifically say CTF + IPv6 wont work as expected, as IPv6 uses a different packet technology, and to accelerate that, you need a technology that your router doesn't have (IDK if any more modern routers will have it, the CTF and CTF + FA code is closed source so nothing can be done to update that code, so is anything else broacom.
So I really must correct myself, its not that IPv6 doen't like CTF, Its CTF that doesn't like IPv6, since its closed source, even if Broadcom patched it to somehow miraculously handle IPv6 technology which is incomparable to IPv4 and doesnt even work anywhere close to the same, and imagine they did, its still closed source code that will likely never come into DD-WRT. Emphases on likely, never say never like James Bond.
But let me sum up.
And to quote myself, Unless your ISP stopped IPv4 altogether, there is no valid reason to use IPv6, none, ziltch, zip, nada, bobkiss. You will not have faster internet you wont be connected to some part of the internet that you havent seen before, nothing will change except you have now some IP which is insanely long and DD-WRT UI wont show you that long pretty IP either.

I don't know if ctf makes any benefits when using ipv6 regarding bandwidth... I allways get around 140-150 Mbps... And my ISP plan is 150Mbps... But ipv6 makes huge impovement when it comes to latency... I play chess online a lot... On lichess.org
and for bullet games latency is important... With ipv6 I get 36ms toward lichess, but when using ipv4 it goes up to 60-70 ms... And ctf is on... But as I said ctf is good when it comes to bandwidth...

usually ipv6 is not NATed... and the way I understand ctf is working is acceleration through NAT (you cannot use QoS or port forwarding when ctf is on)... similar as SFE but with hardware help... so ipv6 doesn't need acceleration because there is no NAT...
and joker you are right, and links you provided are very instructive... I just wanted to say my expiriences... My expiriences are that there are no negative effects if you leave it on, ctf... but I disagree that people should disable ipv6 because there are a lot of gaming sites that using ipv6 and expirience is much better with ipv6 because of ultra low latency... Chrome has this so called IPvFoo extension where you can see if the site you are connected to is using ipv6 or ipv4... and than go to lichess.org where you can see your ping to that site... it is much lower when you are using ipv6... and these are just my findings... I am not arguing or whatsoever...

For downloading porn and browsing the web ipv4 is just fine for 99% of everyone, if you are a stock trader then low latency matters as matters high speeds.
Gaming is not important for me, but if it is for you so much the better. I find it a total waste of time, boring and too easy, it becomes uninteresting.
Also I doubt very much that you have no negative experience with IPv6 + CTF, unless your ISP speed is that low or not even close to making any difference to you with IPv6 and CTF enabled, which is not the case for the OP or anyone with half Gig WAN speeds and more.

Yea thats it, I shat my pants by a online challenge for a game of chess, even if you were a grand master, I would still play you in real life, there is no shame in losing to a better player.
But, on a computer, sorry get a life, chess is meant to be a strategy game where two people can see the effect one move has on the other, possibly even affecting them psychologically.
You turned a serious game into some impersonal sterile experience, you just proven my point. BORING!

But, patches welcome. It is possible, anything is possible with the right code.
The only computer language I used before I retired was Cobol. Linux to me is like a foreign language, and I was very bad in foreign languages.
For the past nine months I have been working with Comcast engineers and Netgear engineers to get IPv6 working on Comcast vCMTS systems. Netgear finally game me a test build to try on my other router, a Netgear RAX45, and they finally determined what the problem was and fixed the problem.
