Is it possible to swap out the stock Marvell 88W8864 wifi card for something that uses the ath9k driver?
According to Librecmc, it should be possible, but I'm having trouble tracking down info on an appropriate card I could swap in there.
Just looking at the card that's already in there, I'm somewhat doubtful that a typical mpci-e card for a laptop would fit but I've been wrong before.

Does anyone have any info about how to do a mod like this?
Thanks.
I'll lay my cards on the table. My objective is to use this device with librecmc. According to the link I posted, you have to change the wifi module to accomplish this. So far, I haven't had much luck tracking down any info specific to librecmc regarding how to do this. Since the issue of changing out the wifi module isn't itself about librecmc, I decided I would ask around elsewhere and see if anyone might have any info about how to do this.
I want a router that's as libre as possible while still being reasonably powerful. Using an ath9k card is a must for me.
No, not at all. The question I'm asking has nothing to do with librecmc. It's a hardware question, not a firmware question. No need to be so trigger happy.
