Hey there
I am sure this has been asked but I cannot find decent or good results when searching.
What is the trick to searching here?
I know both OpenVPN and Wireguard will work but would like to read posts but searching is not working.
I have an Asus router with DD-WRT v3.0r44.... and I have been trying to setup OpenVPN, Wireguard, or anything to use my iPhone to get on my home network while away.

The forum search can be frustrating. Try this: Use multiple keywords. Chose the appropriate forum. Select "Search for all terms." Display results as posts. Return first 1000 characters of posts.

Both work well and have different advantages. Wireguard is fast, lightweight, and easy to set-up. OpenVPN offers more options, like TAP bridging or TUN routing (your iPhone will only TUN), and UDP or TCP protocols, which might help in some cases.
I originally used OpenVPN to connect my iPhone to my home network, but switched to Wireguard as soon as it was available. Wireguard works very well in this use case.
Check out the Advanced Networking forum where you will find @egc's posts and his excellent guides to both OpenVPN and Wireguard.
