Hi
After spending days on trying to get VLAN to work on WAN on WRT1900AC v1 and reading forums I finally figured one thing out. The v1 and v2 are different - different ports, since the bitmasks are not the same as listed by everyone else.
This is the default setup in WRT1900AC vs:
Code:
Port Name Mask Port mask bit
0 LAN4 2e 0101110 0000001 1
1 LAN3 2d 0101101 0000010 2
2 LAN2 2b 0101011 0000100 3
3 LAN1 27 0011011 0001000 4
4 WAN 40 1000000 0010000 5
5 CPU for LAN 0f 0001111 0100000 6
6 CPU for WAN 10 0010000 1000000 7
Graphically I believe it means the device is hooked up like this internally by default (see attachment)- have not been able to find this figure anywhere. Is that correct? This also means the layout for the v2 on the page: https://oldwiki.archive.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt1x00ac_series is wrong
When setting up the switch with vlan tagging on the WAN port the connections look like this:
