Heloo, DD WRT friends
I have problem with my router and I dont know how to solve it.
On status page it is recognised as:Router Model TP-Link TL-WR740N v4
On the back of the router it is stated Version: Ver 5.1
Few months ago I flashed it with firmware, I cant remember version, and yesterday I update firmware.
Firmware is ( from top right corner ): Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r41468 std (11/06/19
I found this firmware is buggy or i have wrong version. When I try to add static IP for server, I get message that this IP is allready added to static lease, even reset to factory defaults. Another bug is that I run ping on another PC and aget replay constantly, but router dont show machine on DHCP client list. Do I use wrong version or this is BUG. Third bug is MAC. My isp requested from me my MAC to enable this router on network. Afted registeding MAC CHANGE ITSELF and I cant connect, sometimes router take MAC from WIFI and sometimes from LAN network. I DID NOT PLAY WITH MAC CLONE. DO I run wrong version or this is realy bugs. If run wrong version can someone explain to me how to flash with right version or explain to me how to revert fo factory firmware. Thanks in advance.
There are revert files for your router (if you can figure out what it is) in the sticky at the top of this forum.
No idea if they work.
Did you flash V4 or V5 firmware?
I dont know, how to check? I posted what I see on top bottom corner.

ON sticker on router it says that it is 5.1 revision but wrt says 4. WTF?

You can try flashing the v5 firmware from the link I posted via web interface, yes. I would reset to defaults before and after flashing, just to rule out any nvram variables that could cause issue to be safe. If it still reports it as a v4 after flashing v5 firmware, then that is a problem and the actual detection code is not complete. there ware some firmware's where it says ver 4, but on the
firmware name is 5...thus because those versions are just header hack and they are buggy, they might work but they ware never tailored for those units...
I still cannot believe we live in 21 century and ppl still use TP 740, in fact they are everywhere...
try to reset with button only and reflash with an appropriate firmware for version number/name present on the sticker...

I downloaded stock+, firmware from TP link website. Uploaded it and they is WRT again. Can someone help me?

It is offtopic for this thread, but i dont want to open new topic. DDWRT is gread, really. I Dont hate it because of my problem.As mentioned up, problem is with mac adresses, they copyed somethimes MAC from LAN interface and somethimes from WAN, and there is problem with forwarding, I try to forward UDP port 1194 ( port od openVPN ) but it did not work, I try then to add VPN server into DMZ, with no success, until I revert to stock firmware... Nevermind isthere any thread, how i can install DD-WRT into VirtualMachine?
