Do NOT flash larger builds!

Flashing Instructions

Support was added in build 18846, so do not use older builds. After the e1200v2 K26 initial flash file, only use K3X nv64k builds to upgrade.

WARNING: don't confuse this with other Linksys E-Series units use nv60k builds, this one uses nv64k builds!

  1. These instructions were performed with an e1200v2 running FW_E1200_v2.0.07.002_US_20150108.bin
  2. Download the initial flash trailed build: dd-wrt.v24-19519_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1200v2.bin and Upgrade build dd-wrt.v24-29519_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin (or later)
  3. Log into the Linksys Web Interface Firmware Upgrade page, via an ethernet port.
  4. Do a reset using the stock web interface. Wait a minute.
  5. Flash the firmware dd-wrt.v24-19519_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1200v2.bin
  6. Wait 2 minutes. It will reboot on it's own.
  7. Wait about another 2 minutes until it finishes booting.
  8. Log into the dd-wrt web interface and set a password
  9. Flash dd-wrt.v24-29519_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin (select reset to default settings)
    • Wait 3-4 minutes for the flash to complete then if isn't accessible, manually power cycle the router
  10. You are done.

Build 33555 mega runs on this router, while many of the previous 2017 builds are too large to fit the flash. [tmittelstaedt] (10/24/2017)

Build Information

Following the initial flash instructions from stock to dd-wrt with, use builds with K3.x and nv64k in the name for upgrading, like Any other builds for upgrading an existing dd-wrt install without K3X and nv64k in the name will brick your router! Build must be greater than 18946. For the safest results, use builds that are linked within this wiki as they have most likely been forum tested with ok reported results.

More Information

If you use the old Wiki instructions (not here anymore), it will screw up your flash and you will end up with non working Ethernet ports, only WiFi. Reference

Old Forum thread:

Recovering from 'Management Recovery Mode', or No Ethernet Ports

In a NUTSHELL, there is a persistent bug in nv64k build of K26 and K3X broadcom firmware, where a reset has the ethernet ports not bound to anything. Using the web interface over wifi, it is possible to add VLAN1 (ethernet ports) back to the bridge, and then they work. See: Linksys_E1500#Recovering_from_Management_Mode_Firmware_Recovery_or_No_ethernet_connection

For issues with Management Recovery Mode, substitute E1200 for E1500, using the appropriate firmwares.

Reverting to Stock Firmware

Download the stock firmware image from the manufacturer's website (link), reset the router back to defaults using a 30-30-30 hard reset, then flash the stock image from within the dd-wrt webgui. After 5 minutes it should finish, you will then need to do another 30-30-30 reset and then access the stock webgui @
