[edit] Warning

As of December 2020 we have noticed that a lot of TP-Link Hardware is showing a warning on their firmware updates: Note: You will be unable to downgrade to the previous firmware version after updating this firmware.

It would appear that TP-Link is locking down the firmware from third party firmware. As a precaution, we recommend avoiding any new stock firmware upgrades that might contain this note as you may not be able to flash a third party firmware again. Possibly even the stock build before that note too. This might only apply to North American stock firmware and not EU or IL, or Asian stock firmware. We have yet to confirm all the details.
