maybe you didnt flashed it correctly. the free version has the same kernel and boot sequence. the registered version has just the wifi driver stuff inside. everything else is identical

i can confirm this issue with my laptop router. the latest version i can use without kernel panic is 12-21-06

all the new versions cause a kernel panic, except 1-9-2007.2, but in that version SIP phones are not functioning properly.

it seems like a widespread problem?

I flashed all the versions i could, and still kernel panic, so i went back to 12-21-2006 with the snowflakes Smile

I am using the 1-18-2007, and am not having any problems...I'm using a ide 40 gig hard disk though, are all of you using CF cards or sata drives ?

I will have to try the ATA Lingo Phone

+1 for IBM R52

We'll hold out for a bit more as they'll get round to resolving it. Perhaps we'll buy a copy then!

I've hit the same problem but also on versions prior to 21-12-06 which has led me to question my install procedure rather than the software
I've read through various other posts and been through the steps of:
    update bios
boot damn small linux live cd
delete partition 3 in fdisk of /dev/hda
    dd if=dd-wrt.public-vga.img of=/dev/hda

However, I was confused about a brainslayer comment of the need to delete /usr/local/nvram.* I'm guessing this is if you are already running dd-wrt which is not the case
dd-ing seems to create 4 partitions hda1-4 all 1 block in length which doesn't seem quite right. Also, after a dd should there be a grub_install command or similar.
