WOL from Internet

Hi,

I recently put dd-wrt micro version on my Linksys WRT54G (v7.2). I choose the micro version because this was in the router specific instructions.

My goal is to start a PC at home from the internet using WOL, without sending any passwords in clear text (unencrypted).

However, the micro version has no https web interfase (http only) and it does not support SSH for remote access. It also has no VPN server functionality.

I have followed the instructions on sending a WOL package directly (using the trick with the startup command)to the letter but for some reason it doesn't work.

Am I out of luck with this router? Is it true that I won't be able to load a larger build on this router?

Is their any way to just add SSH or https remote web access and nothing else?
