If you don't mind using Communist Chinese Red Army software, then why bother with DD-WRT?
The box works fine at 300 mbps using stock firmware.
So let the Red Army sniff all your traffic - who cares?
N00b, my discussion here is not about the Chinese is about the DD-WRT it self. But that1s OK now, because I already flash it back to stock firmware. Now I have WiFi N again and I can load the configuration pages thru HTTP normally and access it over the internet. I'll wait for a official FW for the 1.8 version.
I don't like Communism as well as you don't, but we must remember that there are a lot of Chinese people that leaves there still because they don't have many option. They are people like others and deserve respect. If you don't buy anything from Chine then you must throw away a lot of things...
Remember too if you have something from DELL or Apple that those devices are made in China.
But that's is for the geographic class, not for DD-WRT forum.
I thanks all for the help, but now my router is stock, and waiting for a official FW for 1.8 revision. _________________ Desktop:EVGA nForce 750i Sli FTW 175 | 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz (2x 2GB) | 1TB Seagate (2x 500G Raid 0) | DVD-RW PIONNER 212D SATA | Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz | Corsair TX750W CMPSU-750TX | Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced | ZOTAC nVidia GTX 260² 896/448 | Samsung 2232BW 22" | Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Notebook:Dell Inspiron 1525 | Core 2 Duo T5750 2GHz | 320GB Samsung | 4GB Corsair DDR2 | Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset | Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Console: XBox 360S | 250GB | 512MB GDDR3 | Custom ATI 10MB DRAM 500Mhz | Custom IBM 3 Core @ 3.2GHz each 1MB L2 Cache | High Definition Support | XBox Live Gametag: GugaJedi

Well, for the record, I had no problem achieving 130mbps with DD-WRT.
I just couldn't get SuperChannel to "stick" so that I was able to up it to 300mbps.
But 130mbps is definitely better than "802.11g".
I went back to stock, and I'll wait for a official version for WR1043ND v1.8 and I better revision for WiFi N routers.
I really do like D-WRT, most of function are better than stock, but not only de WiFi problems was annoying myself but the USB mout as well. _________________ Desktop:EVGA nForce 750i Sli FTW 175 | 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz (2x 2GB) | 1TB Seagate (2x 500G Raid 0) | DVD-RW PIONNER 212D SATA | Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz | Corsair TX750W CMPSU-750TX | Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced | ZOTAC nVidia GTX 260² 896/448 | Samsung 2232BW 22" | Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Notebook:Dell Inspiron 1525 | Core 2 Duo T5750 2GHz | 320GB Samsung | 4GB Corsair DDR2 | Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset | Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Console: XBox 360S | 250GB | 512MB GDDR3 | Custom ATI 10MB DRAM 500Mhz | Custom IBM 3 Core @ 3.2GHz each 1MB L2 Cache | High Definition Support | XBox Live Gametag: GugaJedi
N doesn't work on the 14XXX firmware and so too the USB NTFS. If you do not mind this, everything else works just fine and you can get any wifi speed you want. the best firmware (best of the bunch, but still far from good) is 14896. Connect to the router over http pages load normally nothing is slow.
If you want to use openVPN or setup PPTP etc DD-wrt is useful, if not don't waste your time.

I've already restored the original fw, and now the Router is properly set to WiFi N and is sharing a External HD NTFS formatted. I'll wait for a better release from DD-WRT, because I do like it. I like the network chart, the network graphic traffic use and so on.

Where did you find information to upgrade to this build? I installed the 14896 build and when i tried to upgrade to another build my router bricked. I was luck to return and change it, but now I don't know how to do because there is no wiki information about this router.
Can you give us some help?

newbie here! I just bought a WR1043ND mostly for its draft-n WiFi and its LAN Gigabit switch. I googled here and was hoping if any can confirm print server capability at USB port.
thanks in advance,

The DD-WRT it's not good already for WR1043... _________________ Desktop:EVGA nForce 750i Sli FTW 175 | 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz (2x 2GB) | 1TB Seagate (2x 500G Raid 0) | DVD-RW PIONNER 212D SATA | Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz | Corsair TX750W CMPSU-750TX | Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced | ZOTAC nVidia GTX 260² 896/448 | Samsung 2232BW 22" | Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Notebook:Dell Inspiron 1525 | Core 2 Duo T5750 2GHz | 320GB Samsung | 4GB Corsair DDR2 | Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset | Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Console: XBox 360S | 250GB | 512MB GDDR3 | Custom ATI 10MB DRAM 500Mhz | Custom IBM 3 Core @ 3.2GHz each 1MB L2 Cache | High Definition Support | XBox Live Gametag: GugaJedi
Where did you get the web revert from ddwrt to stock firmware file for v1.8?
I can only find the file for v1 on the 'Files for reverting from DD-WRT to STOCK FIRMWARE' thread.

I found it in the main download page from DD-WRT web site. _________________ Desktop:EVGA nForce 750i Sli FTW 175 | 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz (2x 2GB) | 1TB Seagate (2x 500G Raid 0) | DVD-RW PIONNER 212D SATA | Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz | Corsair TX750W CMPSU-750TX | Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced | ZOTAC nVidia GTX 260² 896/448 | Samsung 2232BW 22" | Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Notebook:Dell Inspiron 1525 | Core 2 Duo T5750 2GHz | 320GB Samsung | 4GB Corsair DDR2 | Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset | Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Console: XBox 360S | 250GB | 512MB GDDR3 | Custom ATI 10MB DRAM 500Mhz | Custom IBM 3 Core @ 3.2GHz each 1MB L2 Cache | High Definition Support | XBox Live Gametag: GugaJedi
Ah I see. That one is actually revision 1.1 and 1.4, but since you've flashed it on your 1.8 successfully that means it works fine.
I will give it a go.

I have 1.8/16994, but the rate is 130Mb/s (Wireless Status). My nodes are 65/65... Is superchannel will do the trick ?
