Hi - Please help me with route configuration on DD-WRT
Router A -
- DDWRT
- Connected to WAN (Internet)
- IP 10.0.1.1
- DHCP 10.0.1.2 - 10.0.1.200
Router B-
- Non DDWRT (nofirmware for Netgear R7900)
- Connected to Router A for Internet.
- IP 192.168.1.1
- Web server IP 192.168.1.30

When i am connected to Router A, I cannot reach web server 192.168.1.30 on Router B

I tried adding a route on Router A
- network 192.168.1.0
- GW 10.0.1.1
interface: LAN & WAN

It did not work and i had to reset Router A to get whole house networking working again.

Please help me on adding the route the right way on a dd-wrt. thanks

Sorry for not being clear. I am not trying to reach the web server from teh internet. I understand the port forwarding.

It not even a webserver its a MQTT server. I have some of my deviced coneected on the router A that need to reach teh MQTT server on the 192 network.

So its a route internally on my to private networks. I had done something similar abck in 2006 when i tested for CCNA.

I just need help with right way to configure router from A -10.0.1.0 to B- 192.168.1.0 network

thanks for your reply. I get it now since B is connected on the internet port i have to open the 10. net on B's firewall. I will give that a try.

A is in the basement and i have a bunch of IoT that can connect to A with a better signal strength and report to the MQTT on B.

SO, even with firewall configuration on B to allow 10.x.x.x net, i still do need to add a route on A (10.0.1.1) to go to B's 192.168.1.0 ?

Could you please help with the right way to add a route on the Router A (dd-wrt) ?
Last time i added 192.168.1.0 GW 10.0.1.1 Interface Lan&Wan
it broke the whole network and i had to reset and start over again.

i had dhcp reservered the IP of the Router B..and i see what mistake i was doing in routes. instead of the WAN IP of B i was using the GW 10.0.1.1...that was causing the whole network to fail...ok i will give that a try.

on the router B (-netgear R7900 - i hope the experts make dd-wrt firmware)
I dont see firewall in the menu, just Port Forwarding/Port Trigger menu. is this where i configure to allow communication from the 10.0.1.x devices ?

so the source will be 10.0.1.0 and ports will 'all' 0r 0-6555 ?
destination will be 192.168.1.0?
thanks in advance.

the devices (on 10.x)that send data packets to a MQTT server (192.168.1.20) - can allow that on port forwaring on 192-router B.

when i am on 192 net, i want to be able to connect to all the devices's on 10.x.x net. Is it possible to open full(all IPs or range 10.0.1.10-.200) communication from 192-RouterB to 10.xRouter A ?

thanks
