I have had zero problems with the 20202 build on either band, 2.4 or 5ghz... My 2012 macbook pro connects at 450mb/s on the 5gig side using channel 157. I have tested save/apply settings... I have tested Virtual interfaces, even openvpn... all seem to work.. I can say since the 64k cfe upgrade this router has been a real work horse and works very well.. 1 thing that came to mind is TX power, if you are having problems you may want to lower this... I have both 2 and 5 gig bands set at 56mw.

The same mac book pro 2012.... but I use official dd-wrt build with 32k nvram... may be this is problem...
I'm scary to update cfe because of breaking router and not clear if it will be possible to use dd-wrt build on it... (

Set it to a lower channel, I thought the same thing for a while, but then I tried something like channel 36 and then it popped up in my clients lists.

The new cfe update solution posted by ryzhov_al and theMIROn is nearly fool proof and is all done on the actual router itself, no nead to install Linux at all.

So people who has flashed the fixed cfe should flash again with this new procedure because of a bug... shouldn't we?

Yes. If you didn't keep a copy of your old cfe, barryware has a thread with it posted.

If you are already on a 64k dd-wrt build, you can use the new 64k patch directly, as I did. No problem. Just remember to clear the NVRAM after cfe patch though, otherwise some settings would be messed up.

I think I'm on 32k build... is it possbile to check?
and If I'm on 32k how to be?

To check the version under dd-wrt:
cat /dev/mtd/0ro | grep version

If still 1.0.1.2, then you better flash the Merlin version or Asus Stock or Tomato at first.

B1 unit arrived with 1.0.1.2/3.0.0.4.260 installed from the factory. Used ryzhov_al's latest CFE update method via simple putty/terminal. As mentioned before, it's pretty fool-proof now; no intermediate linux/darwin stuff needed. Yes I saved a backup rom...

Now the question is whether I can flash directly to fractal's 20202 build or whether I still need to heed to warning and flash to Merlin or Tomato first. Have another unit arriving shortly but still playing it safe...

dont flash fractals with UN-buggy CFE. looks like it makes WAN port inoperable. wait for fractal fix, stay with asus.
