First time flashing firmware with DD-WRT.

I have a WG602v4 router.
I am using build 14896, micro, generic.
I am using Window XP to flash the firmware.
I am using tftp2.exe to flash the firmware.
I will setup up the IP addresses needed (could someone tell me how to do this?).
I will do a 30/30/30 reset before and after.
I will disable security features and antivirus.
I will use LAN.
I will disable any wireless adapters.

Is there anything I haven't listed or shouldn't actually do?

You should read the announcements at the start of this forum, and also check to see if there is a wiki install guide for your router. If there is, follow the steps there. Exactly.

EDIT: No wiki install guide for that router and I don't see a trailed build. So follow note 11 of the peacock and flash 13525 Micro_Generic.bin first.

Start over. Unplug the router and get the tftp program ready to run. Plug the router in, count to "2" and then hit upgrade.

Check your LAN IP on your router and make sure your computer is set to a static IP on the same subnet. When you plug your computer into the router, what IP address gets assigned to the computer when you have auto IP set?

Try setting your computer to 192.168.0.6 and tftp to 192.168.0.1. I just downloaded the manual for your router and am checking it. Seems to be on the 192.168.0.x subnet. You might also try tftp to 192.168.0.227

EDIT: Definitely try tftp to 192.168.0.227 first. Set your computer to 192.168.0.6.

You are not bricked. Open a webpage to 192.168.0.227 and see what you get when connected from the computer to the LAN port of the router. I was looking at a v.3 manual...v.4 might be different.

EDIT: V.4 is 192.168.0.205

Can you access the router at 192.168.0.205 using a webbrowser? Do you have a manual for the router? You need to know the stock IP address.

Arrgghh. Netgear website says the IP is 192.168.0.210. Try to open that in a webbrowser. If it opens, use tftp to that address.
