Hi guys, just a simple question, I have bought "DD-WRT V24 Special for Broadcom based devices". I followed the link to download the file "dd-wrt.v24_micro_special_generic.bin". successfully flashed this firmware to my LINKSYS WRT54gs v4.
now, how I can use the extra features? especially the individual bandwidth control. in the activation center it shows "no licenses available".
At the moment I can not see any difference between this version of dd-wrt in my router and the free version I used before. could any one help me with this please.
Thanks Sash, I will spend some more time on those.
only one thing I dont know how to do is to limit the download bandwidth of each connections. I am running a little free wifi hotspot in my shop. but here in Australia we have download limit each month for our boradband plan. so can you please tell me how to do so?
I have tryed every thing, bought 3 modems and find they are not supported by dd-wrt, bricked one of them.tryed tomato.spend hours of reading. if you can solve this problem for me I will be very thankful.

the GSv4 unit has a 4M flash chip...you can run up to the STD builds....micro is limiting to begin with....and mini should be the smallest build you would want to load on this model.
I suggest you reflash the router with either a nokaid or std build of FW. (I personally like the nokaid builds since I am not a gamer)
the BW control you seek is on the NAT/QoS>>QoS tab. This allows more control over QoS then the regular free version of dd-wrt.
Don't worry about the licensing information you found...no additional licenses are needed for the broadcom based router (your GSv4 included)
hope it helps.
