Best N router to replace my G with 17dbi gain antenna

I currently have a wrt-54g with a Omnidirectional pvc antenna 17dbi gain. Antenna has RP-TNC connector. Looking for a 802.11n router that I can use the same antenna upgrade on.

Also do I need to have multiple antenna upgrades to deal with 5ghz and 2.4ghz?

With my antenna mod on my 54g I can barely cover the entire building.

Is 802.11n going to drastically increase the typical range of wifi signal enough that the 17dbi gain would be unnecessary?

Just looking for a possibly yes or a probably no answer Wink

2.4 GHz N will probably be the same as your G. 5 GHz N will be even less.

The biggest problem you probably have is interference from other devices that are in the 2.4 GHz range ie, Cordless phones, Microwave ovens, Florescent lights etc..

What about using 3 routers or so to expand the network. Does this work well on N routers?

Would it be possible to have them all connect via 5ghz and still broadcast both 2.4ghz and 5ghz?

Sorry if these are newb questions. I'm just not sure about the whole dual spectrum deal.

Mainly we're looking for better wireless bandwidth.
