I would assume I should use the same builds on all models?

Thanks

Somewhat, but its not really important, i have performed WDS links with different builds on whichever units i used to do it with, just mainly 2 things have to be in place, the hardware has to support it, which in your case it does, and the firmware has to have the feature included as well, another in which your case it does type deal Smile

Cool, last night got the 5Ghz WDS going on the latest NEWD2 build. Will try and do some throughput tests soon...

Hi,
I have flashed my WNDR3300 with dd-wrt.v24-15508_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin but after reboot only the power light leave on and if I plug the eth cable the led power on.
I have already try to hard reset 30-30-30 several times.
I have already plug and unplug cable while pinging 192.168.1.1 (I had 20times in 45 minutes.
Any suggestions?

The k2.6 kernel sources were updated and no longer have support for certain CPU's that they previously did. Because of this current k2.6 builds will no longer work on this model and you need to recover to a k2.4 build or an older k2.6 build before the sources were updated.

Hi phuzi0n,
thank you very much for the report.
Now my router is bricked?
It's possible to recover by soldering the cable with serial port?
Anyone have a link to a guide for do this recover?

Hi
I have used this usb to ttl adapter but when I try to type "nvram erase" in CFE the characters aren't recognized correctly:
Code:
WNDR3300 Boot code V1.0.2
Build date: Thu Sep 20 13:11:58 CST 2007
Initializing Arena
Initializing Devices.
Boot partition size = 131072(0x20000)
et0: Broadcom BCM47xx 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller 4.150.10.5
et1: Broadcom BCM47xx 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller 4.150.10.5
CPU type 0x29006: 264MHz
Total memory: 16384 KBytes

Device eth0:  hwaddr ******************, ipaddr 192.168.1.1, mask 255.255.255.0
gateway not set, nameserver not set
Automatic startup canceled via Ctrl-C
CFE> ððnÿrñm eras÷

I have try with hyperterminal and putty, with flowcontrol none or flowcontrol XON/XOFF but I have always the same issue.
Any suggestions? Question

Maybe try the Netgear Firmware Recovery Utility, instructions here:

I already use the Netgear Firmware Recovery Utility, but if there isn't the tftpd listening in router it doesn't work.
When I enter in CFE I correctly ping with TTL=100 the router but I don't able to do:
Code:
nvram erase
tftpd

for start the tftpd and launch the flashing from pc.
I try to set serial with other speeds but the only one that I see the output from the router is 115200 but when I try to write something show only strange characters and Enter don't work Sad

Any suggestions?

Are you running the adapter on 3.3V? 5V may generate comm errors..

There is also no pullup resistors for the rx and tx lines, add 4.7Kohm on both of them.

If still no success then it is likely that the baudgenerator of the PIC chip is slightly off limit for 115200 baud.

Yes I'm running at 3.3V.
I have try now with two resistors at 4.7Kohm, but the result is the same.
Next week I'll go to buy a MAX3232 I will hope to work fine Rolling Eyes
Thanks for your reply.

Best regards,
