I have a situation where wifi will drop off in certain areas of my home. I can be connected w/o problems, but wander into the rear area of the house and my signal drops out. The house is wired with cat5. I have a Netgear wndr3700 (v1) that I can set up as a repeater and connect in this area . Will this give me seamless wifi or does a repeater require that I login to the "virtual ap". What's my best solution in this situation?

Best solution is to setup an Access Point, wired to the main. WDS is a wireless to wireless connection, but is chipset specific (Atheros).

AP: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_access_point

WDS: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WDS_Linked_router_network

Read the linking routers page for the differences between the modes:
