I bought a WHR-HP-GN this morning in Shanghai and I was able to install DD-WRT with the web interface.
I used the file "buffalo-to-dd-wrt_webflash-MULTI.bin", DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/09/10) std (SVN revision 14206) ; everything worked fine.
But then I tried to install the "vpn" version of DD-WRT with the file "dd-wrt.v24_vpn_generic.bin"...
Since then, the device doesn't answer to pings, and the "diag" LED is flashing red.
BTW I tried the 30-30-30 reset but it didn't do anything.
Is there any way to fix that ?
The device is so light it wouldn't even be a decent paperweight :)
Edit 18/04/2010 : I opened the box, and it turns out it is based on the WHR-HP-G300N rev A1 motherboard.
I can see a 14 pins JTAG port (pins 2,4,6,8,10 are GND) as well as a 4 pins serial port. Any way to use that to unbrick the router?
yes ... its on the board said
WHR-HP-G300N Rev.A1
21514WHG300N1A1
it's support by dd-wrt !
simple uggrade ...
4 step for me ...
- change default whr-hp-gn ip to 192.168.1.1
- dhcp off
- then upgrade via gui with buffalo-to-dd-wrt_webflash-MULTI.bin
- then upgrade again with whr-hp-gn-firmware-MULTI.bin
thanks to dd-wrt
is there a hack to power up the power of whr-hp-gn just like whr-hp-54g since its have preamp built in ?
what max db this unit can do ?
