Well, i'm just wondering to revert the buffalo router to the stock firmware because at this moment the dd-wrt firmware doesn't provide the nas and torrents functions.

The pro's of dd-wrt, for my experience, are all about the stability and a lot of "advanced" functions.
The stock firmware was quite faulty of disconnections or torrents anomalies [i'm in contact with the official support and i'm trying to give them some infos about these problems].

And you guys, what's your experience with this router and the firmwares?
What did you choose to use and why? And what's your tipical usage?

and a final question: the lack of the main feature of this router in dd-wrt is just a question of time? i think i understand that optware can't run [and i'm afraid that open wrt has too less support and info... and i can't revert to the stock firmware like with ddwrt].

Any infos, ideas, opinions are appreciated Smile

i think the answer is in the wait.
i bricket my g300nh, and i'll think i'll give another try to ddwrt ONLY when everything i need will be clearly available. i'm not good enough and i've no time to go mad for makes samba, torrents or amule working.

just wait, then.

I would like to hear about this from BrainSlayer.
Maybe he could tell us when we could be waiting for those services on dd-wrt.

Hello,

try Openwrt backfire prerelease, it works fine, but it s still a beta. However, opkg works!
And ath9k driver for wireless seems a little more stable.

By the way, backfire's web admin is luci, and less complete than dd-wrt web interface.
Tftp flash with windows XP has failed for me, but was successfull under ubuntu.

How to flash correctly?
What is the time to wait from the router start to pressing enter button on PUT?

Can you tell me how to upload correctly the file on it?

You ve just to follow the wiki's instructions. Smile
you need to power off the router.
In the tftp prompt connect 192.168.11.1 (your ip adress must be 192.168.11.X)
Put theimgenamefirmware.
POwer ON the router

Follow the wiki tutorial. he s well done.
Under windows xp i vn't succeeded to flash so try with ubuntu.
