Hello WHR G300N users,
first of all DD-WRT is great. I have it running on two WRT160N in wireless bridge mode in order to connect a Sony TV to a twonky server on a NAS.
Unfortunately I bought two WHR G300N before buying the two WRT160Ns. As for me the buffalos are unstable with DD-WRT (I tested different configuration, different firmwares, different days,...) I would like to know if somebody was able to revert the firmware (with or without the use of jtag).

Don't bother...
I downloaded that rar file and opened up the files in notepad.
The Linux and uRoot info both had DD-WRT info headers
Looks like the original poster took a dump of his memory with DD-WRT firmware loaded.
This dump will NOT restore you back to original WHR-G300N firmware. _________________ Soylent Green Is People !

This is fantastic news.
I have been having a nightmare with DD-WRT on this router.
If I can revert to Buffalo firmware this sad experience will be resolved.
Why have none of the moderators suggested that it is possible to revert so easily?

Remember one important thing about this.
WHR-G300N is not the WHR-HP-G300N
The WHR-HP-G300N's are different hardware.
The HP (High Power) versions are Atheros based.
I don't know if Brainslayer has un-encrypted WHR-G300N firmware.
It would be awesome if he can post it. _________________ Soylent Green Is People !

The tftp method does not accept un-encrypted firmware so that is of no help.
A dd-wrt-to-buffalo-revert file is only useful for revert via the gui, a gui that you don't have access to if the router is semi-bricked. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Has anyone managed to get the encrypted firmware flashed back to the WHR-G300N? I've looked at this article on the atheros forum, but I'm not sure if the same approach will work the for the ralink chipset.
I desperately need to replace my G300N's as they don't do IPV6 and would like to be able to revert them so that I can sell them. I'm not happy selling them with dd-wrt on as I wouldn't want someone else to have to suffer what I consider is a bugged firmware at the moment.
IPV6 has become a mandatory requirement for the project I'm working on.

Not possible as of yet for the WHR-G300N.
Maybe in the future, maybe not.
You may be stuck trying to sell them with DD-WRT on them. _________________ Soylent Green Is People !
