i like the wireless status screen where you can see all the clients that are connected to network...but is it possible to define labels (e.g. Joes laptop) for the mac addresses that you are expecting to see connected?

i am talking about the bottom section on status screen where it shows the 'mac adresses' connected to the wireless. some of these are smart appliances. I want to tell wwdrt to 'label' those mac addresses with a 'name' ...

just like you can label the hdmi inputs on your tv with 'living room, jims secret hostage room' etc

btw - all of my computers have names and they do show up on the screen for dhcp clients

I cannot remember if that uses the dns system or not, but you could try there.

you sir are a genius! that is exactly the type of information i was looking for.

however it only worked partially for what I wanted...
when i used that dhcp host command to map a macaddress to a name. that name does show up on the Status Lan page but not on the Status Wireless page

to be fair, the status wireless page seems to want to show macaddresses and the Lan page wants to show mac addresses AND hostnames.

what i was hoping for is a quick easy way to see which devices (with MY names) that are connected wirelessly to my different wifi's
