Hello there,
This is about installing / running Optware on / from an external USB hard drive. Once I have Optware deamons permanently running, e.g. lighttp, will they prevent my hard disk from spinning down at any time?
Just in case: dd-wrt.v24-19342_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin running on a Linksys E3200
The hard disk will go to sleep if it is not used for a certain amount of time. So you could to a cron job to copy a file from /tmp to /mnt every minute, in order to prevent it from sleeping. If you would read it from /mnt it could be cached and the hard disk would still go to sleep. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei
