Followed this a few times and couldn't get it to work.

But I enabled local HTTP protocol web access under Administration > Management. I had only HTTPS LAN web access enabled previously (paranoid?)

But this is weird since even if I accessed https://localhost:[ssh_admin_port] it still wouldn't work. Maybe an issue with the protocol?

thanks 2dis. Not sure if this was ever elaborated on the wiki though

I'd like to point your attention on the fact, that if you try to establish port forwarding and to use SSH connection with Key exchange from a Linux OS to your DD-WRT router, than you should try this command in the terminal:

# ssh -i </directory PATH/to/your/Private/Key\>Private_key user@<ip.of.the.router> -p <port_number>

Before that you should already have your port changed from the Web GUI of your DD-WRT router.
