the installation instructions should be in the install section of the wiki, for your router. Also read the announcements at the top of this forum carefully.

Ok...that wiki is a complete mess, so I understand your confusion. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE you have a WRT54Gv2, NOT a WRT54GSv2 or a WRT54G2.

You shouldn't need to upgrade the Linksys firmware in order to flash DD-WRT. Just make sure you're using a VINT mini or micro build...try these two:
http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24_FINAL-VINT/dd-wrt.v24-9517_VINT_mini.bin

-or-

http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24_FINAL-VINT/dd-wrt.v24-9517_VINT_micro.bin

Try the mini first. Remember to follow the installation instructions in the wiki. Pay special attention to the parts about the hard reset, and when you actually upload the firmware, WAIT.

Let us know how it goes.

thanks for your information, It is sure I got wrt54g V2
I plan to flash it with Web GUI

Please clarify my step
1/ Use Hard reset or 30/30/30 to reset to Factory Defaults.

2/ Type in the IP address of the router (typically, the default is 192.168.1.1, especially with Linksys) into the address bar of your browser.

3/ Click the "Administration" tab

4/ Click the "Firmware Upgrade" sub-tab.

5/ Click the "Browse" button and select the DD-WRT .bin file you downloaded and confirmed.
Click the "Upgrade" button.

6/ Lastly, do another hard reset on the unit.
If flashed successfully you will now be able to access the DD-WRT web interface at 192.168.1.1 (again, that is default for most Linksys, etc routers; does not apply to all routers. Check your router's IP before you start this process - clock).

6/WAIT AT LEAST FIVE MINUTES.

7/ Lastly, do another hard reset on the unit.

Sounds good, except notice my edit.
