Hey guys, I have a WRT45G V2 laying around that I'd like to use as a wireless bridge. If this can support dd-wrt, which version firmware would you recommend I use?

Thanks, this is a WRT45G V2. No typo there. I have no idea what size router memory it is. Since this is my friend's router, I don't want to brick it by reading potentially false information off the internet.

If someone knowledgeable knows, please advise. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Has anyone been able to get dd-wrt installed on a WRT45G even though it is not supported?

Could you post a pic of that router?

TMK, there is no unsupport wrt54g anything except for the wrt54g V7.0

In regards to your earlier post on device specifications, use the wiki, supported device section. It has all (most) of the relevant specs for the supported routers.

I think linksys has "unfriended" that phantom router:

Quote:

Your search - site:www.linksys.com "wrt45g" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

* Make sure all words are spelled correctly.

Maybe that was a special model made for dyslexics, but it's not on the Linksys site, and a web search elsewhere shows up what are pretty much clearly 54 to 45 typos.

Regardless:

I suppose you could take a random tire, and put it on your car. It will roll, will sort of work--but it's unlikely that it will work well.

Unsupported routers means, well, that there is not a known version of DD-WRT that will work with them. And, I would not recommend experimenting yourself unless you have good recovery skills, as in JTAG, and so on.

Could you double check the label of the "45G"? Or, post the first four letters/digits of the serial number on the back.....

As NXIL pointed out that model of router is not listed in the linksys support site, which would suggest that there is no wrt45g.
