adding external hookups for antenna to my router

ok i have ordered a omni directional antenna for my router i have a belkin f5d7230-4 with non detatchable antennas and i have a westell 327 w with detatchable antennas so i took out the antennas on the belkin i left the wires attatched to the board and left them pretty long then i took the connectors out of the westell router and detatched the wires from the board on it no can i splice the wires from the external rp-sma connectors to the wires running to the board on the belkin and what would the best way to splice them together be also the detatchable one on one wire had a small grounding clip on the board to the westell do i need to ground it to the belkin thanx
