when their supplier notifies them that they are unavailable and won't be shipping, that is when we will get the cancellation notices...
Maybe, but I'm actually hopeful about this one. Whether it was a price mistake, other snafu, or maybe even a promotion, I don't know. But I'm not going to worry about it, if it comes, it comes. If it doesn't I have working routers, although not as fun to dink around with.

There's a bunch listed on eBay $100 for the router and shipping USA. I think there's about 40 of them in 4 different stores. _________________

@vinnie
Main reason I bought it was the specs. I wanted it mainly as a NAS, which right now (even with the few bugs in the test FW) runs like a raped ape. Once everything is fixed, it will be 3 times better than my 500W... _________________ Optware, the Right Way

lol, it wasn't my intention to be a salesperson for Asus
The specs, price and availability speak for themselves. It's a shame that the majority of people on here that bought the router from Provantage have to wait so long, but hopefully when you receive it, all the bugs, etc. will have been documented and corrected. Not to mention you will have paid under $50 for it (if Provanantage maintains their original price).
Show me a better deal.... _________________ Optware, the Right Way

Cool...I have not jumped headlong into NAS land yet...but I guess it will be the ultimate router for that purpose. Where oh where is Asus' 5hz offering?! grr

OMG ... ROFL ... that was the best one in a long time.
I'm still laughing !!
Thanks for the pick me up :)
EDIT:
PS .. the reason I was on this thread to being was because I just ordered one of the RT-N16 routers too ...
I'm excited to see that this one is so quickly supported!
I have thought of getting a wireless N router, have wanted a WL-500W for quite awhile but never pulled the trigger.
I have to say that this model might have to take its place on my wishlist. No I don't absolutely need this particular router, but it's probably a step up from my WL-520GU
Thanks to you early adopters and Eko for making this happen so quickly!
Glad we didn't get a 89 page thread of "is it supported yet?" _________________ Asus WL520GU DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/30/10) mini-usb-ftp

I was googling around and found a Chinese post about a guy who installed a 2.5" hard drive in his RT-N16, connected to the USB interface and powered by the router. The translation is a bit hard to read but it's got pictures and I was able to muddle through it. Who'da thunk it!? Pretty cool. I don't think I'd do it but it's a cool idea.

OK... I am still laughing as well with the "ape" comment, my wife was looking at me laugh so hard she started laughing as well.
As an FYI, my the order I placed yesterday with Provantage was for $85, which is still cheaper than Newegg at $99.
I can't believe any of you haven't heard that expression before. You're all as worthless as tits on a warthog. _________________ Optware, the Right Way

Now there's a phrase I'm more familiar with. Where I was raised things run like scalded dogs, you can't expect anything from a pig but a grunt, goat rodeos sometimes occur, and occasionally that dog won't hunt.
