Hell yes, been waiting a long time for a new build. Going on both my routers, though I secretly replaced my dad's GS with my Premium as main router so it may not get as much use Laughing

I pass, waiting for Eko's WRT610N 2.6 BIG. Very Happy

(There are just a few changesets out of the latest 250 that would make any difference on my routers.)

My normal upgrade steps are:-
1. ssh thru putty into the box
2. cd /tmp
3. wget image
4. nohup write dd-wrt* linux&
5. mtd -r erase nvram

However, for this build, the putty session will be broken at step 4. After which, the router will reject any connection attemp (ssh/telnet) until it is rebooted.

Is this the expected behaviour?

I repeated the above process a few time with same results. In the end, I upgraded using the GUI firmware upgrade function.

I am using WRT300n v1.1, upgrading from 12874.

Yes. SSH is one of the processes that ends during a firmware upgrade to free memory. See this ticket.

SSH will not break if you use:
Code:
nohup mtd write dd-wrt* linux&

Please note the addition of the mtd command in the code.

My boredom is relieved!!!!!!

Flashed on to all my test routers

WRT310N - N only AP/Gateway
WRT310N - N only CB
WRT54GL - G AP
WRT54G V2.2 G RB
WRT54GL - G CB

Flashing seemed faster than previous builds. No issues with RB and CB re-associating with AP's.

Will be doing some performance testing and report back.

tested in wap54g v2..

severe slowdown while applying something that requires restarting wireless conectivity (changing txpower, rx/tx antenas, rate, network..). It takes up to 2 minutes to restore conectivity and to receive httpd pages from the device...

Apart from that, a little higher connection rates Very Happy

I created this ticket: http://svn.dd-wrt.com:8000/dd-wrt/ticket/1238

So we can continue using ssh
The "mtd write" does not free memory like "write" does and I also suspect it doesn't do any checking either....

Please add a comment if you agree.
