I reverted back to the last-known working version, 29974, and the 5ghz AES client-bridge is working perfectly. I guess I can try to step-upgrade my way to the newest version, and see when it dies. That might help figure out which version introduced the problem.
Thank you
I just flashed it,
I'm surprised, once the upgrade was done I didn't needed to restore my settings backup.
The version as changed and my settings still are there, is it normal? Or will they leave at next reboot?

Unless you change the setting on the upgrade page from do not restore defaults to restore defaults. Yes, your settings will be kept, this can cause problems when coming from a very old build (more than 6 months old). Which is why the reset to defaults option is on that page. Never restore a back up file to a different version of dd-wrt than it was created on, just input all of the settings manually. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? Oh oh, I come from a revision from 2014... (v24-sp2 02/19/14)
What should I do then? Reset to defaults setting and then manually re-enter all parameters?

Yes, that is exactly what you should do in that case.
As for mattlward's question about SNMP support, I have a feeling it was dropped at a certain point due to size limitations (8 MiB flash). If you absolutely need SNMP, then upgrade to a router with at least 16 MiB of flash space (TP-Link Archer C7 v2, v3, or v4), 128 MiB is also available but more prominent on the Broadcom side (Asus N66U). _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I am currently using 33986 on my 825 B1. It seems stable to me. I only use it as a WDS Station to serve my PS3. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Thanks for your reply ian5142. Hopefully that build could also work well with streaming services. Have been having lately lots of problems with those services, but apparently is my ISP the guilty, not my current router fw.
Anyone else using a more updated version after FW 2017-04-24-r31899?

I have a DIR-825 C1 that is running a really old version of DDWRT. It is v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std.
I (obviously) haven't been here in several years. Is there a way to determine the latest appropriate stable build for my router? I don't need VPN, DynDNS, etc. I just use it as an AP.
I've seen the instructions that I will need to use to upgrade the router.

I have ver B1, I would suggest 34080 at this time.

I have the DIR 825 Ver B1, i am trying to convert this router to DDWRT but i am having a lot of problems. The router had the old 2.04N firmware, upgrade to latest 2.09N from dlink website.
I have successfully converted one B1 without a problem, but i have 2 more B1 routers that i cannot load DDWRT on them. When i put the router on 30/30/30 Firmware upgrade mode, and try to load the factory to ddwrt NA.bin file, after some time i get the following message:
Incorrect hardware ID image, Please check !
NOTICE !!
•Please select the correct image !
Posted: Wed Mar 14, 2018 11:58 Post subject: Factory Firmware
What is the current factory firmware on the other two routers? 2.09 NA?
Did you try the note at the bottom of the Out of the box instructions section?
Quote:
NOTE as of November 2017: The factory-to-ddwrt files from builds 14280 and later DO NOT appear to load with the hidden firmware upgrade menu when the B1 version router is running the factory version 2.07NA. Use the one from build 13832 located here https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2010/02-03-10-r13832/dlink-dir825-revb/factory-to-ddwrt_NA.bin Unfortunately this firmware is very buggy and it may require that you do a command-line update to a newer version of dd-wrt as shown here (https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation#Method_3:_Flashing_with_Command_Line) as the webflash with it may fail. It also appears to run very slowly and the lights on the router do not show as described in these instructions. When I worked with it I had to configure the router IP address and default gateway from the command line since the web interface kept crashing.
