Hi, I just got my Senao EOC-2610 and did perform the upgrade to BS "linux" r12672. No issues to do it through the redboot procedure.

I did configure it as repeater (client no encryption + vap WPA Personal), it gets the IP from the main AP, then provide its own IP segment to its clients. All is fine, I can access internet, even do video conference. ( 2 PCs, Broadcom + Atheros, 1 Videophone Asus SV1 Aiguru )

Then I decided to try the "client bridge" mode. No problem, it did reboot, forward the IPs to the clients, BUT, no way to reach the router, it seems it has NO IP. I started scanning with a software named "superscanner", to find which IP it could be. NO WAY. No IP was given to the router, that was funny.

I decided to proceed with an hardware reset, but had to proceed twice, as for any reason, it was not working.

I did reinstall my setup, and looked at the activation system key. It has been changed, according to the one I sent to DD-WRT shop.

1) is the issue with NO IP attributed to the router normal when in client bridge mode ?

2) is it normal that the system key differs after performing a hard reset ? How can it be avoided, in order to not disturb the DD-WRT shop if it happens again ?

Thanks for your time and support.
Michel

PS: the senao outdoor devices are really easy to install and giving very good results, at least the one I have Wink !

Hi Sash, there is a reason to let the EOC getting an IP from a DHCP. I do use open WIFI APs, and they are not all within the same IP range, so the EOC needs to get an IP from the main AP & DHCP.

The question related to the client bridge is more "a normal behaviour by design", not getting an IP, or is it a bug ?

It sounds weird, as even without an attributed IP, it was able to connect on the AP, and forward IPs and data to its local clients.

Thanks, Michel.
